BLOG: Night at Jacque’s

By Divina

This year my birthday falls on a Wednesday (17th ) so Eddy and I decided to celebrate early and head up to Boston for the weekend.  I went out with my Boston sorority sisters and Eddy went out with his Boston fraternity brothers.

My sorority sisters and I are definitely "Whoo Girls" (see the TV show "How I Met Your Mother" for the definition.) so after a fun dinner filled with martinis and good food, we all headed to Jacque’s Cabaret.

Jacques’s Cabaret is self named "New England’s favorite place for female impersonation."  Yes, readers I went to drag show and loved every minute of it!

Imagine 13 Whoo girls, fabulous drag queens, and two hours of music, dancing and just pure fun.  That was my Saturday night, jealous?!

The cabaret is not very big and you definitely need reservations.  The stage is modest in size but the stars of the show definitely entertain you!  They opened up the show with Mariah Carey’s "All I want for Christmas is you" in cute little Santa dresses like Mean Girls and Lindsey Lohan but substitute Lohan for even more fabulous queens.

Then they pulled up all the birthday girls up on stage to be admired.  Then the engaged girls were brought up stage to have their rings admired.  (Admired is just a polite word for being felt up a little.)

Then the real show started as all the Caberet’s starlets entertained us with their renditions of Whitney, Tina Turner, etc.  All the songs were definite crowd pleasers with almost everyone dancing and singing along as the stars performed.

The audience was made up of bachelorette parties, gay friends and birthday girls.  Heterosexual guys are invited to the show but be prepared to get special attention from Kris Knievil and the rest of the beautiful ladies.  Also, if you are a bride to be and are wearing a phallic shaped tiara be VERY prepared to be VERY admired.

For more information, go on their website for show times and any special events and if you do go, don’t forget your dollar bills being that fabulous requires tips!

D, I love it! I think you recapped the night beautifully. The one thing you missed was the noise that us 13 whoo girls made as we all walked down the streets of Boston in our heels. People even turned around to see what all the clicking and clacking was behind them.
