A Child Grows in Brooklyn Baby Expo Recap

By Divina

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to drive down to Brooklyn and attend the first ever Brooklyn Baby Expo at the Toren Condo.  At the Expo, parents had the opportunity to try out various baby related products as well as see demos and speak directly to company representatives.  The A Child Grows in Brooklyn Baby Expo also had a number of seminars (some favorites included Raising a Good Sleeper and Greening Your Home).  There were over 45 different companies attending the event, so this was the perfect time to learn about new products as well as find out the new technology and trends in the baby world.

Big Bro will be three in June and as all parents know between the recalls and new stuff out there three years is a lifetime in the Baby industry.

Some of the products that caught our eye were the following:

Britax B-Ready stroller Britax B-Ready Stroller ($499.99) from what we could see a well built stroller with great design for two growing boys.  A full review to follow.

Baby Brezza Baby Food MakerBaby Brezza the one step baby food maker ($99.99).  I made my own organic baby food for Big Bro because of the health and financial benefits but it was always a process with lots of dirty appliances.  I like this all in one design.

The Baby is still too little and only drinking milk but when he gets bigger I am interested in finding out more about Plum Organics and their line of on the go Baby food.

Boon Bath creaturesThe Boon Frog pod ($34.99) is a favorite in the Dancing Hotdogs household and it was great checking out their 2011 products.  We got a Boon bath creatures set (pictured, $13.99) and Big Bro LOVES the bright interchangeable tops and bottoms. I like how it’s affordable and BPA, Phthalate and PVC free.

 B. Toys playroom that showcased their most popular toys and allowed me to do the press thing during the Expo.  We have the Jungle Jam and Bristle Block Stackadoos in the car because it’s perfect on the fun go for Big Bro but it was cool to see their higher tech toys like the Hellophone.  Big Bro even got a pic and shout out on the B.log http://justb-byou.com/blog/2011/3/16/playdate-b/

I met Joselyn a Stella & Dot stylist and checked out the new spring collection and I have my eye set on several pieces for Mother’s day gifts for me and my beloved Mama and Mama-in-law.  Like the Bamboleo Necklace or the Rio Triple Strand Coin Necklace.

Mini Max NYC gave Big Bro a much needed haircut and saved me one less errand.  I wish we lived closer so we could attend their fun events like the French story time check them out at http://www.minimaxnyc.com/

Thank you to my fabulous hostesses and event organizers Karen and Melissa, the event was a total success!

Bravo Hot Mamas!
