On March 2, PBS Kids celebrated Theodor Seuss Geisel’s or as most of the world knows him Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a two hour The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That marathon event. To help celebrate the event, I was contacted to host a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party play date to preview two new episodes of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! and we had a ball. I love hosting parties at my house and to help get into the spirit of the party I received a “Dr. Seuss Birthday Party” screening kit that included party hats, cake mix and balloons.
Check out some of the pictures:
Along with watching the two new episodes, we read some of our favorite Seuss books and decorated Seuss inspired cupcakes.
It was so easy to throw this party together and I found really fun and affordable activities to do with the kids. If you have a birthday party coming up here are some quick tips.
- Go to the library and pick up some of your favorite books to read during the party
- Serve fun and silly treats inspired by Dr. Seuss
- Go on your favorite search engine like Google images and search Free Dr. Seuss Printables
Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss’ books? Green Eggs and Ham, Mr. Brown Can Moo and The Cat in the Hat are bed time reading staples at the Dancing Hotdogs household. I love how Dr. Seuss’ birthday is also the annual date for National Read Across America Day. With that said, you don’t have to wait until next year to celebrate Dr. Seuss; read your favorite books any time and check out PBS Kids The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!
Disclosure: I received a PBS Kids Dr. Seuss screening kit for my party but no additional compensation. My post is my unbaised experience.
