Can I just say I fell in love with this movie! Eddy, Big Bro and I loved every minute of the 1 hour and 13 minutes of this movie.
Walt Disney Animation Studios did a fantastic job of taking three classic A.A. Milne’s Pooh stories and adapting it to the big screen. They took the simple stories and the wonderful characters of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, Roo, Balloon and Eeyore to make a wonderful family friendly movie.
I love how they did not add or detract from the story but just told a great story. All the classic characters shine in the three stories of Eeyore’s lost tail, the disappearance of Christopher Robin and Pooh’s quest to find honey. The voice talents of John Cleese (narrator), Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh and Tigger), Bud Luckey (Eeyore), Craig Ferguson (Owl), Jack Boulter (Christopher Robin), Travis Oates (Piglet), Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Kanga), Wyatt Dean Hall (Roo) and Tom Kenny (Rabbit) are just dead on and take me back to some of my younger days.
The look of the movie is fantastic! The movie is computer animation but like Tangled the level of sophistication makes it look like it was hand drawn. I love the look! And it will introduce a whole new generation of the wonder and joy that Pooh is.
Winnie the Pooh opens nationally today and trust me you have got to take the family to see it. PERIOD.
Disclosure: I attended a Disney sponsored pre-screening of the event but my post is my unbiased opinion of the movie.
