Barbie Princess Charm School DVD review and Giveaway

Is there anything Barbie can’t do?  I loved Barbie as I was growing up. She has been a doctor, a lawyer, a vet and countless other professions and in the latest Barbie DVD, Barbie Princess Charm School, she is going to join the ranks of Kate Middleton and be a modern day princess.

The Dancing Hotdogs family received a preview copy of the DVD along with two gorgeous Barbie dolls to review prior to the official release of the DVD in September.

Quick synopsis of DVD:

Blair Willows (Barbie) a young working class girl is selected by a lottery to attend the Princess Charm School. A boarding school that trains Princess and Lady Royals on proper etiquette, dancing and builds characters through their tests and lessons. With the help of her new Princess friends Blair learns the ins and outs required to rule a country. While attending Blair hears the tragic story of the death of the royal family of Gardinia and rumors of the missing Baby Princess Sophia the next in line to rule over the country.  Blair faces several obstacles on her road to a better life with the soon to be crowned Gardinia Princess Delancy and her mother doing their best to have Blair expelled from the school.

The DVD is very cute and has a great message of persevering over challenges and working hard for what you want in life.  The film is not rated and runs for 1 hour and 21 minutes.  The computer generated scenes and story are very bright and cheerful except for a few death undertones.  The preview DVD I  saw did not have the bonus material so I am not sure what other features it has but based on the movie your modern day princess is going to LOVE the movie and the merchandise that goes with it.
