Eddy and I have lots of roles in our lives but the most beloved and important title we carry is Daddy and Mami. We are imperfect but loving parents so every time you read about something on Dancing Hotdogs.com you are hearing it from real parents who are there with you. Trust me half the time I am giggling or arguing with almost four year old Rock and one year old X.
That is why I am so proud to be a PBS Kids VIP (Very Involved Parent) for this established leader in children’s education. Last week, I was flown out to Denver, Colorado for the 2012 PBS Annual Meeting where I got to meet with other PBS Kids VIPs and national movers and shakers from the PBS Company.
PBS and PBS Kids are leaders in the television and programming industry and I was amazed at how though they have the opportunity to just sit on their laurels and enjoy the success. Everyone whether they are creators, producers, writers, interactive designers or station managers they still strive to be the best in educational programming and are so passionate and committed to create and produce innovative entertainment.
Check out my picture recap of my two day trip.
I not only got to meet the amazing Mrs. Rogers and Blues Clues and Super Why creator Angela Santomero but I got to hear from Leslie Rotenburg Senior VP of Children’s Media, Sara DeWitt, VP of PBS Kids Interactive but was also given a sneak peak at some fantastic new programming by the #1 educational media brand like a 1 hour The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot about Christmas!, 1 hour Wild Kratts and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood by WETA, The Fred Rogers Company Angela Santomero is the newest preschooler to the PBS Kids line-up. I am really excited about this new show because we get to see Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood characters grow up and have preschoolers of their own so Rock, X and I can all enjoy this educational entertainment with the same great message I grew up with.
Check out this sneak peek before the official series premiere on September 3, 2012.
As always as PBS Kids VIP, I will pass on more information from the undisputed leader in children’s programming.
Bravo to PBS and PBS Kids for their dedication to excellence and trust me it has not gone unnoticed! In 2011 PBS won 12 Daytime Emmy ® Awards putting it atop all broadcast and cable networks for children’s programming for the 14th consecutive year!
Disclosure: I am a PBS Kids Ambassador for 2012 and my flight, meals and accommodations were paid for by PBS and I received a goody bag but no other compensation. I was not required to post this information I just wanted to share with you.
