(Video) Hershey Park Summer 2012 Visit & Travel Tips

A few weeks back thanks to Chevy and Momtrends, Eddy, the Dancing Hotdogs little men and I headed to Hershey Park for a weekend of fun in the sun and chocolate entertainment.

It was our first time and we were surprised it took almost five hours to get there from CT but the drive there is beautiful and the Hershey Park experience is worth the ride.

I was blown away and a bit overwhelmed with how BIG this theme park is!

Hershey Park has over 65 rides, 20 little kid rides, 12 roller coasters and 9 water attractions along with a Boardwalk at Hershey Park

I mean it’s huge! And it has something for everyone any age whether they are thrill seekers or little loved ones like our sons.

When we went it was a beautiful summer day and we took full advantage of the water attractions as well as The Boardwalk At Hershey park.  It was a perfect!

I would recommend you go for a couple days so you do not feel like you have to cram everything into one day and arrive early.  Hershey Park is very popular so it fills up quickly and there can be super long lines for some of the attractions.

We caught some of the kiddie rides like the gorgeous carousal in the video.  The lines were not that bad nor were the lines to take pictures with the dancing candy bars. ; )

Day Two of our visit we learned through the Trolley Tour and Great American Chocolate Tour about the chocolate hero Milton Hershey who is the epitome of perseverance and the American dream.  He faced several challenges like bankruptcy but still worked hard to not only become the founder of the Hershey Chocolate Company, the town of Hershey, Pennsylvania and become a famous philanthropist who helped countless orphans.

The Trolley tour with the educational entertainment, behind the scenes views, singing and chocolate treats were my favorite part of the trip.

HersheyPark and Hershey’s Chocolate World is on seasonal hours so to get more info on the theme park or to start planning your trip visit http://www.hersheypark.com/ and http://www.hersheypark.com/lodging/index.php for accommodations.   They are actually have a $15 off discount on tickets for the month of September and have special events for Halloween and the holidays.

Disclosure: We attended HersheyPark as guests of Chevy and Momtrends as always our post is our unbiased opinions.
