(Video) Ruckus Reader Review

I see the benefit of using technology as an educational tool and Ruckus Reader, a breakthrough learning program for the iPad featuring digital storybooks that provides parents with personalized feedback on their child’s reading experience, is a perfect example of using technology to teach your children new things.  (Of course, everything with moderation!)

The Ruckus Reader turns your iPad into a kid friendly library of e-books designed to cultivate your children’s love of learning.

The Ruckus Reader offers a collection of more than 15 iReaders from award-winning, best-selling children’s books with 20 new titles and activities added to the Ruckus Reader library every month.  So your little loved ones are improving their reading skills and while learning with their favorite friends like Hasbro’s MY LITTLE PONY and TRANSFORMERS brands and The Wiggles.

Our little guys LOVE everything superheroes and crime fighting so I took the opportunity to download the SeaWord reader so Rock and X could learn about sea creatures.  They also offer fantastic collections from Crayola and Dino Dan for more science learning.

Check out the video of Rock and I having some educational fun on the iPad.

Rock has outgrown naps (sigh…) so when X is taking his noon nap Rock has a little quiet time with himself while I do the blogging thing and he asks for the SeaWorld Ruckus Reader by name as his activity of choice! He considers himself an expert on sharks, penguins and other sea life.

I LOVE how my little future marine biologist is practicing his letters and reading while learning with some great content that includes scientific facts, cool videos and amazing pictures.  He is totally engaged for at least an hour as he practices his reading and interacts with sea creatures.

I also have the peace of mind knowing that the Ruckus Reader is using the Common Core State standards so I know all the e-material he sees is age appropriate.  The Ruckus Reader even gives parents and caregivers a weekly Reader Meter email report that tracks your loved one’s progress to see how they are improving and what they may need help with.  And since it has three levels of reading Rock and X can grow with the Ruckus Reader as they improve their reading skills.

The Ruckus Reader App is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore.

A total recommend for educational entertainment!

Disclosure: I received a six month subscription for review purposes but as always my post is my unbiased opinion on the product.
