Travel is tough enough with children, why make it worse by staying at a second rate hotel. The key to having a wonderful vacation is comfort and comfort doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. All you need to know is the right places to look. When we go to Sesame Place things are so hectic with everyone wanting to go on rides and see their favorite character, so it is doubly important to find a hotel nearby where you can relax and have a good night sleep.
Here is how we found our time at the Courtyard Philadelphia Langhorne:
Location: Tucked in extremely close enough to the park to walk (though I wouldn’t recommend it). The area has a ton of restaurants all of which understand that their clientele are going to have kids so there is plenty of high chairs and booster seat. The hotel itself is located off the main road and relatively isolated from all the noise from the surrounding business and road. Getting in and out of the hotel for the park or food wasn’t much of a problem.
Check in/out and staff: Check out was quick and convenient. There always was someone at the front desk and they were ready to help. There didn’t seem to be a lack of staff in the hotel at all times even late at night.
Amenities: The WIFI signal was strong at the hotel and most importantly free. There was a decent size indoor pool and hot tub. Also included was a small gym which included mainly a couple of elliptical machines and a dumbbell weight set.
The Courtyard Marriott Bistro provides complimentary Starbucks coffee and breakfast (for a fee, $14 for the buffet breakfast) this is important especially if you have to gather your group up for an early departure. The Bistro was very spacious and beautiful.
The Courtyard Marriott also provides its guests with a wonderful main lobby, common room and business center. For the first time at a hotel I saw entire families hanging out in the lobby either talking, eating or watching TV, which is definitely rare. In addition, the Courtyard also provided a interactive touch screen TV in the lobby that will show key information such as local news and weather. And if you are flying out they have a passing board print station and several computers in case you need to get connected.
Room: We had two double beds and a (complimentary) pack and play in the room you would think that we would be vary cramped. Instead, the room was very spacious. We had plenty of room to stretch out and have a bit of fun. In addition, the rooms were well insulated therefore we didn’t have to worry too much about bothering our neighbors when one of the boys had a crying fit. The same thing worked the other way around as we were not distracted or woken up by noise out in the hallway.
Overall we had a wonderful time, and considering the price we would definitely come back again. To get more details or make reservations visit http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/phlln-courtyard-philadelphia-langhorne/ .
