I LOVE how Disney is re-releasing all their classic hits like The Great Mouse Detective Mystery in the Mist Edition in Blu-Ray TM and HD Digital because not only is the picture and sound amazing I get to rediscover these gems with my little men.

Synopsis:

On October 9, 2012 fans can experience Disney’s greatest little mystery, in High Definition picture and sound, and go on a great big adventure as the “The Great Mouse Detective” Mystery in the Mist Edition ($29.99) arrives on 2-Disc Blu-Ray Combo Pack and HD Digital.  When the diabolical Professor Ratigan kidnaps London’s master toymaker, the brilliant Basil of Baker Street and his trusted sidekick Dawson try to elude the ultimate trap and foil the perfect crime. This family classic on Disney Blu-Ray proves big heroes come in small packages.

This 74 minute mouse escapade takes you all over London with Basil, Dawson and Olivia as you try to not only save Olivia’s dad but the Mouse Queen and all the London mice society from evil Professor Ratigan’s rule.

Originally released in 1986 based on the Eve Titus’ Basil of Baker Street, the story is so cute, the imagery is beautiful and of course everything is G rated perfect for a family night in.  Rock loves how Basil uses science to twart the bad guys and he loves how Rattigan does not want to be called a Rat.

Check out this trailer.

Voice talents include Vincent Price, Barrie Ingham, Val Bettin, Susanne Polltschek, Candy Candido, Diana Chesney, Eve Brenner and Alan Young.

Bonus Features include The Making of the Great Mouse Detective, So You Think You Can Sleuth and a Sing-A-Long with The World’s Greatest Criminal Mind.  Comes in English, Spanish and French.

Nice addition to your classic Disney Blu-Ray collection.

Disclosure:  I received a DVD for review purposes but as always my post is my unbiased opinions.
