Disclosure: I was provided with an app sample to facilitate my review. As always my post is my unbiased opinions.
We have less than three weeks before my oldest goes to Kindergarten!
We have been fighting the summer slump and brain drain all summer but there is only so much learning repetition my little man will do. We have done hours of flash cards, work books and even educational apps but his growing little mind needs more.
Thankfully I was contacted to try out the latest app for preschoolers that not only feeds natural curiosity but helps your loved ones learn how to read!
Learn with Homer app is a complete, comprehensive literacy program for children aged three to six. Created by well-known education reformer Stephanie Dua, the app is based on the best teaching practices and aligned with the tough new standards of the Common Core.
“I know there’s a lot of great research on how to teach children to read,” said Dua. “But when my own daughter wanted to learn, I couldn’t find any suitable materials for parents. That’s when Learn with Homer was born. It brings the best early learning techniques together in just one app.”
Check out this video of Eddy and Rock trying out the new comprehensive literacy app.
As you can see the app uses phonics, art, exploring the world and recording for so many levels of learning. Best of all, your children get to customize the learning experience with their picture, personal letter sounds and artwork to make the most of the learning app. Most importantly it keeps reinforcing through play and repetition the foundations needed for learning how to read.
Rock loves how the app is so interactive and has lots of different topics like animals and also teaches with songs and little stories. I love the cheerful characters and illustrations and how it uses music to keep him entertained and learning the entire time he is playing.
Homer is very encouraging and is always cheering on your preschooler along with giving out badges of learning.
Fantastic educational app for your collection!
