Disclosure: The Dancing Hotdogs family were guests of Morey’s Piers for a 2014 FAM trip and our park passes, hotel accommodations and some meals were covered. As always, my posts are based on my opinions and experiences.
For generations, families have visited Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Waterparks. Providing a spectacular family recreation experience, in an exceptionally safe, clean, friendly, and unique environment continues to be the Morey’s Piers mission today and every day. For more details on tickets, accommodations and frequently asked questions visit http://www.moreyspiers.com/ or @MoreysPiers on twitter and Facebook.
I love how Morey’s Piers is local so you can make it a day trip but I would highly recommend staying overnight and take advantage of super close and family friendly accommodations like StarLux Boutique Hotel.
Check out our video of the hotel.
And our room.
My first impression of when we arrived was that we were transported back into the past, the décor was while not up to date, was nonetheless clean and comforting with a cool retro doo wop vibe that recalled the heyday of the Jersey shore. That is not to say that it was stuck in the last century, each room had wifi and had clear access to the internet.
Yet, it was the classic charm that I loved with details like free rentals of bicycles and beach toys (you can’t wait too long as supplies are limited!) In addition, there was free parking, a rare think nowadays that gives you the freedom to either take the car or walk to all the fun. This is especially important for family as parents can only carry so much stuff along with kids in tow.
The StarLux is equipped with a pool and hot tub as well as offers a free continental breakfast for all of its guests. The Breakfast was simple (bagels, coffee and cereal etc) but it got the job done and it provided a good start to all the beach and Pier fun for the rest of the day.
The StarLux was walking distance to the Pier (about 15 minutes), but be warned, if you go from Pier to Pier you might find yourself with quite a distance to walk to get back to the hotel. With that said the StarLux is right across the street from the beach, and plenty of activities for the family.
Overall, the StarLux was a great base of operations for our family at Wildwood, with its great location and neat amenities it is no surprise that the hotel has been an institution since the 1970’s.
