Disclosure: I am Lubriderm 2015 Ambassador and was compensated for this post. As always, my posts are based on my opinions and experiences.
I cannot believe it is mid-March already. Life is just moving too quickly. In January, our baby X turned four and Rock our oldest lost his first baby tooth. I do not know why these moments shook Eddy and I up….I mean, obviously, our sons are getting bigger. We are there for the majority of those small and huge milestones but when you become parents you are so busy with the minutia of the day life can pass you by. On Monday mornings when you are wishing away time for it to be Friday you forget that day and all that week that will be filled with laughter, tears, failures and successes that you will never get back and hopefully never forget.
Eddy found this a couple years back and printed it out for me. I hang it right on our refrigerator so every time I pass it I am reminded of its words.
I quit my well-paying corporate job over three years ago because between private preschool tuition for Rock (only two days of school!) and the cost of Rock (the rest of the days he was not in school) and Baby X in corporate daycare. My paycheck was just not covering it in Connecticut. On that fateful day, Eddy and I hoped, in worst case, we could financially survive with one paycheck for two years and at best five years when X started Kindergarten.
Honestly, we are doing great but I started a small media business and travel a lot so Mami guilt kicks in. Am I playing enough with them? Am I patient enough? What really are my priorities? Rock is now in first grade and X is in preschool. If I am going back to Corporate America I only have two more years of enjoying all those little moments.
That is why I love LUBRIDERM’s latest campaign #FamiliaFirst. I always put my Familia/ Family first but there is always room for improvement.
Here is what we will do with the family to take some time to be in the moment and smell the roses.
- Playing with the boys more often
- Plan several family vacations
- Watching a movie together
- Build a project like the stepping stones
- Take more pictures and videos of me with the boys
Like the quote says on top, “In twenty years my children won’t remember the house or my hair, but they will REMEMBER the time we spent together and the LOVE they felt.”
I hope they remember the love in the little things we did from that movie night where we cuddled underneath blankets as a family.
How every night after they nightly bath and every morning after we washed their face I moisturized their skin with LUBRIDERM Daily Moisture Lotion. Eddy even uses LUBRIDERM’s Men’s 3-in-1 lotion because I only want the best for mi familia.
Hopefully you will join me this year in making Familia or Family FIRST!
