Premiering this past weekend a brand-new kind of family show that is perfect for the 2016 New York City Holiday season.
Pip’s Island is a wildly entertaining, revolutionary new theatrical adventure blending brilliant artistry with the latest in modern technology to create a unique, unparalleled experience. Each 60-minute journey (interactive performance) plays out based on the wild imaginations of its enthusiastic young participants — the explorer, dreamer, artist, scientist and action-hero in your life – who are invited to take a direct part of the storytelling and help the Island’s inhabitants save the day!
Upon entering this exciting new immersive experience, the entire family will be instantly transported straight to Pip’s Island, a magical, faraway island: a realm of sights, sounds and wild adventures with an array of amazing characters to stimulate and inspire every child’s imagination.
I think the trailer gives you a little taste of what you and the family should expect. New friends like Pip, Pebble, Finn and Shelly, bubbles, snow, puppets, team work and a new title Explorer!
Check out what the boys thought of the show
You enjoy the show with your senses. Whether you hear and dance to the music. Smell the fog and see new parts of the island. Most importantly each out and touch the bubbles and the snow. And as X happily states in video after you explore you get a badge!
The show was great because it allowed kids to be kids. They were not relegated to their seats, rather they were a part of the show, fighting against the bad guys and being heroic explorers. The performers really worked hard to involve every child in the show. No one was left behind. Again I cannot understate how interact the show is, moving from one room to another the children always had a new activity to do and every room presented a new challenge and activity. As a parent it was more fun watching the boys react and be a part of the show. I clapped just as much for their participation in the plot as the actors.
Tickets to the show are $50 per person and show recommends for ages 4 to 10. I would recommend for ages 3 to 8 so they are not afraid of some special effects and puppets along with be willing to participate and believe in the wonder of the show.
