Star Wars is a super popular topic in the Dancing Hotdogs house hold, from discussions on who is the strongest Jedi in the series, all the way to what will happen next in Episode 8, there is a ton to talk about. I am just glad that it can bring all of us together in a living room to sit and watch the movie as a family. As part of the release of Rogue One’s release on Digital and Blu Ray/DVD, we staged our own family celebration along with a streaming party of the new movie. Nobody had seen the movie, so everyone was super excited to see what would happen with the Rogue One crew and the stealing of the plans of the Death Star. I won’t spoil all the great surprises for you with any spoilers but needless to say that the movie did not disappoint.
As part of the event we also participated in an at-home twitter party battle, as part of the battle we were recruited as part of the dark side and the Empire. In addition, we also decided to create a special treat for everyone to enjoy while we watched the movie.
Death Star Cones
We had such a great time watching the movie, I am so happy that Disney/Star Wars have decided to focus their stories on strong female characters. Of course, there was always Princess Leia, but with Rey and now Jyn Erso, there now main characters that really show a great new direction for the series. The boys really liked Donnie Yen’s character as the blind Chirrut Imwe, and Deigo Luna’s Captain Cassian brought the type of Roguish character that reminded us of a darker Han Solo.
Regardless of who your favorite character is there is plenty to enjoy, also keep an eye out for our favorite droids R2-D2 and C-3PO who make a quick cameo during the film, ensuring that their streak of appearing in every film was complete.
