Now that the streaming revolution has started, Cable companies have been struggling to catch up with rest of the world. Some have not adjusted well. One cable company offers an app to watch your TV on any device but restricts you to being only able to watch from the confines of your home. How does this help anyone, if I need to stay at home to us the app I might as well just do it on my television. The world has changed, and with all the streaming offerings now available Cable companies are being forced to adapt.
We have a couple of option in our area for cable and one of them seems to be making the changes needed to compete with the Netflixs and Hulus of the world. We got to try out the Xfinity Stream app from Xfinity and it gave me exactly what we were looking for. Full access, anywhere and everywhere. Users can watch any channel as well as access their DVR and watch their saved shows immediately. It is actually a relief to see a cable company actually moving forward with the times instead of forcing everyone to go backwards.
The great part is that it is free if you are an Xfinity/Comcast subscriber. In addition, there is a beta version of the App for Roku meaning that you don’t have to have a cable box in every room to watch TV, another plus! It is these kinds of things that keep families like us from cutting the cord. Check out Xfinity.com for more information.
Disclosure: We received a 2-week trial of Xfinity Stream to try out the services and features available. This post represents our unbiased experience and opinions.
