Suave Naturals Body Wash & Lotion Review and Giveaway!!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

By Rosa

Suave Naturals Body Wash and Lotion both are known for leaving your skin fresh and smooth with a nice scent.  I have sensitive skin and can’t use all types of lotions but Suave is one of the lotions that goes well with my skin.

I tried the NEW Wild Cherry Blossom Body Lotion and Body Wash.  The Body Wash has a floral scent but it’s not too much.  It’s just enough to have you smelling and feeling fresh.  The Vitamin E in the Body Wash helps your skin look great!

Now there is a Body Lotion that you can lather yourself with to have soft and silky smooth skin.  As I mentioned earlier, with my delicate skin some lotions make my skin dry but luckily that was not the result with this lotion.  I have a great scent which wasn’t strong and the best part is that it absorbed quickly.  I could still open doors and nail polish after lathering myself with the lotion.

Suave products are available at your nearest drugstore, mass merchandisers and supermarkets nationwide.  The Wild Cherry Blossom Body Wash retails for $1.99 - $2.50 for 12 oz and the NEW Wild Cherry Blossom Body Lotion retails for $2.95 - $3.39.

Disney’s: Club Penguin – Herbert’s Revenge Video Game Review

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

By Rosa

Club Penguin - Herbert’s Revenge is rated E for everyone for the Nintendo DS.  You are a part of The Elite Penguin Force decoding puzzles to get to the next level.  I am a fan of testing the brain and solving puzzles but this game was very hard for me.  I couldn’t even get to level 2 because I got frustrated and didn’t want to look online for cheat sheets. *HELP*

This is the first time that I tried out the Penguins world and as you can tell, difficult for me.  I did enjoy the characters though, they were definitely very cute!  You can play this game with another player who has a Nintendo DS as well or go online for more games and ways to get more points.

I would recommend this game to people who enjoy testing the brain and who don’t get very frustrated.  Online there are lots of tips and advice as to how to solve the puzzles but since I am stubborn, I wanted to figure out the puzzles on my own.

Club Penguin - Herbert’s Revenge for the Nintendo DS retails for $29.99 for those who enjoy The Elite Penguin Force and this missions!

Disclosure: The game was provided as a review copy but my post is my unbiased opinions on the game.

By Rosa

Wow what a conference, that’s the first thing that I can say!  I was lucky enough to be one of the volunteers at the registration desk.  So many of you probably saw my smiling face on Friday :D. This was our second conference but the first BlogHer.  There were so many bloggers from all over the United States.  There were good classes and events to attend.  Here are some of my highlights of the conference!

Before the conference officially launched on Friday, I attended the pre party on Thursday, Social Fiesta hosted by the Latina bloggers.  There was great music and food.  To top it all off a Zumba instructor came and showed us how to burn lots of calories while dancing!

Walking around the Expo, there were lots of great characters to meet and greet.  Below are some of the people that we got to meet with my sister like my best friend the Pilsbury Dough Boy and Ronald McDonald

YouCake Custom Cake Toppings Product Review

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

By Divina

Last month, Eddy, Babyboy and I went to a product kickoff launch party at MoonSoup to learn about this awesome new product called YouCake .

As Eddy and Babyboy played with some of my favorite Blogger friends’ kids, Rosa and I learned about cool new product that lets you personalize your cake for any occasion with a favorite picture, design and some words.

Better yet, since Babyboy’s birthday was only a month away I was given an opportunity to try out the product first hand and wow my guests in the process.

Did I mention I love YouCake now?

So here is the picture I sent them.

I mentioned that the party was Yo Gabba Gabba themed but I did not have any copy rights and they created this totally brilliant cake topper.

Powermat Father’s Day Giveaway

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

By Divina

Rosa and Eddy rave about the Powermat see their reviews here and here .

Powermat is a fantastic device that has helped me control the wires that run amuck at my house.  Between cell phones, blackberries, iPods and everything else technology we own the wires get cumbersome and dangerous especially when you have a wild 2 year old and two wild dachshunds.

I just love how you drop your electronic item on the mat and it immediately starts charging.  Unfortunately for me, Eddy always takes it on business trips with him, so I am left with using the old ways of charging my cell phone.

This is definitely a great present with Father’s day around the corner and finding one is as easy as buying the Powermat at Best Buy, Target and Amazon.com.  Yet, there is an even easier  way to get one…WIN IT!

For a fun giveaway right around Father’s Day and in celebration of Eddy’s second Father day, One (1) lucky Dancing Hotdogs.com reader will join the Powermat family with their very own Home and Office mat ($99.99 each) with up to 3 receivers ($29.99-39.99 each depending on the device) to simplify their lives!

Contest ends June 15, 2010, 9pm. Giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.

So leave a comment telling us why dads are great or your favorite Father’s Day present/memory.

Jabra Mobile Event and Product Review

Friday, May 14th, 2010

By Rosa

I was lucky enough to go to the Jabra Mobile Event where I learned a lot about the new Bluetooth technology.  Personally I have a Bluetooth but barely ever use it because I find more reasons not to wear it than to use it.  It definitely changed after that event, now I’m addicted to my Jabra Stone .

In case you aren’t familiar with the company; Jabra is known for their great quality of hands-free communication devices.  Jabra: Stone , Extreme , Cruiser , and Halo were the four hands free devices that were introduced to us that day.  The Jabra Stone and Cruiser were my two favorite of the day.

Jabra Cruiser is a Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone.  You connect it to your phone as you would with any other Bluetooth device but you leave it in your car.  The speaker buttons are easy to use to answer a call and adjust the volume.  The cool thing is that it can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time.  It also allows you to stream and control the radio in your car.  If you like to know who is calling you before you answer, the device tells you the person’s name as it is in phone or it says the number.  To make things easier, once you leave the car the speaker automatically turns off. Letters to Juliet Movie Review

Friday, May 7th, 2010

By Rosa

Our friend Ms. Latina from www.LatinaOnAMission.com was giving away tickets for screenings to the movie Letters to Juliet and I jumped at the offer.

I enjoyed the movie very much but let me begin by letting you girls know you should leave your partners at home.  They are not going to enjoy the lovey dovey scenes that make us say "aw" but they will look at us like we are crazy.

The movie is all about true love that never dies.

Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), a writer from New York, goes to Italy with her fiancé Victor (Gael Garcia Bernal) for an early honeymoon.  While strolling along the streets of Verona, she comes across the home of Juliet Capulet where women from all over come and write letters to Juliet awaiting an answer in return.  She joins the Secretaries of Juliet in assisting women with advice about love.  Sophie finds a letter from 1957 and decides she has to respond no knowing whether or not the author would ever receive it.  As to her surprise, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) received her response and it inspires her to find the love of her life.  The adventure begins for Sophie, Claire and the reluctant Charlie (Christopher Egan), Claire’s grandson.  Claire finds her long lost love but she wasn’t the only one to find love.

It was a great movie and can’t wait for it to come out on DVD.  I definitely had a good feeling leaving the theater.  Those who aren’t into romantic comedies should just watch another movie.

If you want to be one of the cool kids and see Letters for Juliet before its release on May 14th , check your local theaters for an early screening.

Disclosure: I received screening tickets from www.latinaonamission.com .  All opinions are my own.

E.L.F Summer Beauty Boost Event!

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

By Rosa

Spring is here!! There are flowers, birds, nice weather and new styles.  Eyes Lips Face (E.L.F), known for their affordable luxury, held a Summer Beauty Boost Event at the American Laser Center .  There were speakers on health, beauty and fashion.  Here are some highlights of the tips that I learned!

Achelle Dunaway, Creative Director of E.L.F, gave us tips as to how to rejuvenate ourselves without having to go under the knife.  Not only are the prices great at E.L.F but their Natural Mineral Makeup is 100% all natural.  If you buy the Beauty Boost Kit , 100% of the proceeds go to The Bottomless Closet , a nonprofit organization that gives women hope for a better future.  Here are some of the top ten trends & tips from Achelle:

  • Bronzer: Using bronzer is the perfect makeup item to help transition you from Winter into Summer. Create a great bronzed glow by dusting color on the hollows of your cheek, around the hairline, under the jaw, along the neck and the décolletage.
  • Matte red lips: Bright lips are all the rage. Red is the perfect color for a night out! Remember to keep the rest of your makeup natural and subtle as to not compete with the dramatic red lip.
  • Glitter Eyes: To enhance and open the eyes pick a glittery liquid eyeliner.

*All products mentioned can be bought online at www.eyeslipsface.com for a combined amount of $12.  That’s a bargain.

If I had more money, I would definitely do the laser hair removal but that’s not all that is done at the American Laser Center .  They also do microdermabrasion, velashape and many more treatments that help you look young and vibrate.  I’m going to have to get back to you guys on how the velashpe is since the American Laser Center gave the attendees a complimentary VelaShape Treatment.  I’m supper excited!  They were also offering samples of other treatments but I had to catch an earlier train back home.

You can get treatments to have a great body but to maintain it; you have do to your part as well.  A good healthy diet and exercise is the only way you can achieve that.  Tanya Zuckerbrot, author of The F-Factor Diet , gave us tips as to what we need for a healthy diet.  Instead of taking away food and starving ourselves, she tells us to eat fiber.  In her book, she gives a meal plan of how to eat as well as recipes to include "fiber-rich foods".

Charles Peter, a personal massage therapist and body-worker, explained that the most important part of working out is letting your body rest afterwards.  If you work out 7 days a week, then your body is being pushed over the limit.  He suggests working out 3-5 times a week for about an hour.

After getting tips on how to have great makeup, hair and body, Derek from DerekLovesShopping.com gave us 10 shopping tips and the secret spots to go shopping!  Becan’s Closet is the place to be for great deals.  He suggest we go Wednesday or Thursday from 5 to 8 pm where there aren’t as many people shopping.  Here are some of his shopping tips:

  • Elly May, June, July: Country cute is the new city fabulous! Big skirts, daisy dukes and gingham make even Ma and Pa Kettle feel right at home in the big city.
  • Keep It Clean: Snow White is keeping it basic this year. The white button down is not just for office anymore.
  • What’s Your Platform?: This spring you will be reaching new heights!!! The platforms have gotten so high you won’t need a step stool ‘til fall!!!

Overall I had a great time and met some great people, a quick shout out to Joey at PinkSith.com (it was nice meeting you!)  Thanks to Ms. Latina , I was able to go to the amazing event.  As you can tell, there was so much information!

Disclosure: I was invited to go to the E.L.F event through Ms. Latina where they gave complimentary gifts to attendees.  All thoughts and opinions are my own of products and services.
