(Video) 2013 Dad’s and Grad’s Gift Guide

doubleblack

Disclosure:  We received a review product or subscription for each of the products in this post. This post represent my unbiased opinion. Let’s try to keep it simple.  its is not how much you spend on your dad or grad it what you get with what you spend.  It doesn't have to cost a million dollars as long as it is useful.  I cant tell you how many presents I have gotten and basically thrown away because they had no use.  So here is a quick list of some useful presents: Tie Society Ties are the traditional gift for father’s day, but I would guess that about 90% of those ties hardly get used by the father.  Why waste all that time looking for the “perfect” tie, when you can give your dad the ability to choose for himself.  Tie Society bases its service similar to Netflix and dollarshave.com, members are able to pick a  tie, or bow tie or tie clip (depending on the plan) and Tie Society will ship it right to you in the next few days.  When you get it, you are … [Read more...]

(Video) For Dads: SONOS PLAY:3 Review

Disclosure: Sonos provided us with a Sonos Play: 3 and a Bridge for a 20 day period.  This post is my unbiased opinion. We at Dancing hotdogs love music, but there are only so many places you can bring your IPod or laptop and listen to great music WITH great sound.  Recently, I have been listening to Pandora on my computer at work, I always wondered how I would get that music at home and have it sound as good as it is when I have it my earphone.  I had tried various different internet radios, but the problem has always been that the speakers were too small or not enough. What I wanted was a great internet radio married with a powerful stereo.  I knew that satellite radios had system that could give me what I wanted, but I didn't want to pay the sometimes expensive monthly or yearly subscription fees.  That is why the Sonos PLAY:3 has been a wonderful discovery. Imagine being able to play any internet radio channel or streaming service from Pandora to Sirius XM in … [Read more...]

Identity Thief Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Review

245124C2_3D

Disclosure: We received a review copy of Identity Thief.  This post represents my unbiased opinion. Identity Thief brings together two of the hottest names currently in Hollywood, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) and Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) and partner them up in a single movie.  Identity Thief is brought to life by these two great comedic actors as well as the creative people behind Ted and Horrible Bosses.  The movie attempts to pull off a Midnight Run style movie. Meaning two opposite personalities are stuck together either by circumstances or physical restraint and must travel across the country dodging danger.   Other movies have attempted to do the same thing; some have been great (48 Hours) and some no so (Another 48 Hours).  Identity Thief fall  right in the middle.  For the most part, it is buoyed by the comedic timing and skills of McCarthy and Bateman. Unfortunately, they really cant change the story, which ends up being muddled and confusing. Bateman … [Read more...]

(Video) Iron Man 3 Movie Review

Iron_Man_3_theatrical_poster

While we were at Disney, I got a chance to catch Iron Man 3.  This is the first Iron Man not directed by Jon Favreau.  Instead, Shane Black the screen writer of the Lethal Weapon movies, or as I happen to know him:  one of the Special Forces guys that get killed in the first Predator movie.  Either way, he obviously brings his own flavor to the movie, emphasizing Tony Stark’s (played by Robert Downey Jr.) wit and adding a more comic feel. Check out the official trailer from Marvel If you were looking for an “Iron Man” movie then you are looking in the wrong place.  Iron Man 3 really centers on Tony Stark and his struggles outside of the famous armor. The circumstances after The Avengers movie have left him with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and he can’t seem to pull himself together.  So if you are a big fan of Robert Downy Jr.  then you are going to get your dollars’ worth.  As he is forced for most of the movie to fight his way through bad guys like the Mandarin … [Read more...]

(Video) He Said,She Said 2014 Kia Sorento Review

Kia Dancing Hotdogs

Image courtesy of Kia Disclosure: We received a loaner 2014 Kia Sorento for one week for review purposes as always our post is our unbiased opinions on the car. The first time I learned about the Kia brand, one of the guys in my high school football team came driving down to practice in a brand new Sportage.  It was the pinnacle of awesome!  I still can remember that it was gold similar to the color of Champagne.  Fast forward 14 years,  and here I am sitting in a brand new 2014 Kia Sorento, fully decked out and top of the line. Kia has come a long way since that time, from an unknown, budget brand, localized to first time car buyers to taking that next step along with the Toyota’s and Nissan’s of the world. When I stepped into the Kia Sorento the first thing I said to myself was WOW.  As I mentioned in the first impression video I was really knocked out by the great interior.  Obviously, the Sorento I tried out happened to be a fully equipped with all … [Read more...]

Avio earbuds

Disclosure: We received a RadioShack Hispanicize  survival bag we were not required to post but wanted to share some great travel technology gadgets for summer season. Divina had the wonderful opportunity to attend Hispanicize a couple of weeks ago.  As part of her experience she received the RadioShack survival kit, which basically covered all her electronic needs to get through the event.  Below are our thoughts on the products in the bag: AUVIO® High-Performance In-Ear Metal Earbuds   Official Description: Enjoy crisp sound and strong bass from these metal (machined-aluminum housing) earbuds from AUVIO. Use them with earclip or without - the earclips are flexible for maximum comfort. The cable tends to lay flat and stay out of your way, making these earbuds ideal to use with your smartphone and for listening to music. Their frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz. DH Review: My favorite thing about these ear buds was that they were sturdy being made of … [Read more...]

(Video) Corazon De Campeon on its way to the World Cup with AT&T

Corazon De Campeon

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post by AT&T and we received compensation. Growing up in the U.S. with parents from Puerto Rico, soccer wasn't the biggest thing going on in my household. Like most Americans, I grew up playing youth soccer but eventually it gave way to other more popular American sports like basketball and football. It took me over 20 years to return to the beautiful game, and it seems like the sport has finally started to gain a foothold in the starts, that is in no small part to the growing population of Hispanics in the U.S. as well as the popularity of Major League Soccer and the U.S.’s relative success at the World Cup. The World Cup has become such an event, in the past couple of years.  I can remember the moment it finally hit in the U.S.  After all these years, it wasn't the game or the fact that the whole world was watching, rather it was the “ole’, ole’, ole’” of Ricky Martin that finally broke through.  Since then, the signature … [Read more...]

(Video) Aveeno Active Natural Hair Products

Aveeno Active Naturals Shampoo

Update! This giveaway is closed congrats to Rosanne. Disclaimer: We received the Aveeno prize pack which includes the Aveeno Active Natural Hair Product line to review.  The Giveaway is sponsored by Aveeno. As you can see from our photos in the Dancing Hotdogs website, I have beautiful locks of mahogany colored hair.  I try to keep it short or I would honestly not be able to walk anywhere without being mobbed, it just wouldn’t be fair to Divina and the boys.  With that said, having short hair doesn’t mean I don’t care about it.  Guys usually get a bad rap about our hair either we care too little or too much,  and in both case we tend to put  in too much chemicals from gel to shampoo; no wonder they call it “MALE” pattern baldness.  Fortunately, there are a couple of products that get the job done but take advantage of natural ingredients, like Aveeno Active Naturals Shampoos and conditioners. The Active Natural line provides clean hair along … [Read more...]

(Video) Dublin Ireland- Jameson Distillery and Guinness Storehouse Tours

frametastic (2)

Jameson Distillery Dublin, Ireland First thing first, tours fill up fast so it is smart planning ahead.  At the Old Jameson distillery (the distiller is no longer produces alcohol, it is only used for tours.  The actual whisky is produced in Cork and has its own tour) the tours are separated in three time blocks that rotate throughout the day operating every 25 minutes and the last tour is at 5:15pm, lines to get into the distiller can get pretty long and extend out the doors, therefore it is best to either get tickets ahead of time or purchase tickets for the latest of the three tours and grab a coffee or beer at a nearby bar. The tour itself consists of a movie and then a guided tour of the distillery.   The movie while brimming with a good amount of dry humor  and is of surprising high production quality though in my opinion it isn’t the most exciting experience.  Once completed, your tour guide picks you up and will begin the walking part of the tour.  As … [Read more...]
