Disclosure: I was given Press tickets to the show to facilitate my review but as always my post is my unbiased opinions. Last night on April 4 2013, Kinky Boots, the most glamorous Broadway show premiered. The highly anticipated new musical by four-time Tony®Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper brought the inspired by real life 2005 British Film by the same name to the Broadway stage. Mickey’s Music Festival hit the theater at Madison Square Garden and we headed there for a rockin good time! We are HUGE Disney fans so we know all the characters and all the songs but I was worried after seeing Disney on Ice another production by Feld Entertainment we would hear a lot of the same classic songs but I could not be more wrong! Growing up thanks to my wonderful Mama and Papa, my sisters, and I always had enough to eat and clothes but they worked long hours for us to be sheltered and taken care of so luxuries were limited. One of those great luxuries was the magic of Broadway and attending the New York City theater life as a family. My parents always valued the arts and instilled that in me and now as a Mami myself I hope to pass that on to my little men. So when I was contacted by Annie the Musical to see the new Broadway show I invited mi Mama, Papa and Rock to join me for a three generation family night out to enjoy the beauty and fun that is Annie. B-52’s Concert Recap at Klein Theater

Last week Eddy and I headed to the small but surprisingly excellent Klein Theater where we got to relive the 80s with the super fun and definitely fabulous B-52’s. I was a little wary just because I have seen a couple of 80s nostalgia bands and been disappointed but NOT with Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson and the B-52’s band. The concert was more like a great big party! All concert-goers were ready to sing, dance and have a wonderful time! They played all their famous songs like Rock Lobster, Roam and of course Love Shack and the audience danced and sang along with such joy! Check out my video recap.
