April 22, 1970 was the very first Earth Day where countless Americans joined together to protect Earth and all its life forms for a beautiful and healthy future. Watching Sports with #NetflixKids

Netflix_Web_Logo

Disclosure: I am part of the Netflix Stream Team.  As always, my posts are based on my opinions and experiences. Sports figures to be pretty big in our house hold, especially with super active boys.  The thing is at this age it is hard to tell what the boys will be into, that is why is especially important to expose them to as many different sports as possible.  Unfortunately, it is difficult for them to try out everything that is why chances to watch the Olympics is perfect.   It shows the boys that there are other sports other than Basketball, Football, Soccer and Baseball. We at the Dancing Hotdogs family love sports movies.  Some of our favorites include Remember the Titan or Rudy.  If you are looking for some sports fun with the family or just want to expose your family to something different here are a couple of sports related movie for kids in Netflix: 1. The Short Game 2. The Kid 3. The Pistol 4. A Mile in His Shoes 5. Winning Favor 6. The Mighty … [Read more...]

(Video) Great Seafood, No Fuss with Red Lobster #BestLobsterfest

rl_Lobsterfest_lockup_FINAL

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Being Latino and Red Lobster.  However, all opinions expressed are my own. The Dancing Hotdogs family with their Puerto Rican Daddy really enjoys their seafood. With NYC Tri-State area living finding fresh seafood is easy. What is not easy? The preparing and cooking of those delicious meals. I love to eat lobster and all seafood goodies but the idea of cooking it myself makes me cringe. Remember I am from a small landlocked country in South America and I swear every time we have a clambake at home I hear tiny little lobster screams. Where do you get your Lobster and Seafood fix when it is freezing outside and the most fresh and succulent seafood is hard to get? Red Lobster! We love how our local Red Lobster is so family friendly so whether it is a family dinner out or a date night with Eddy I know we will have a delicious meal with heavenly cheese biscuits year round. PLUS Red Lobster Lobsterfest is back with new menu items … [Read more...]

Toy Fair 2014 Round Up #TFNY #TF14

Courtesy of the Toy Industry Association, Inc.

Starting this past Sunday, New York City was taken over by toys.  I know it seems like Christmas and the holiday craze has only just passed, but with a new year come a whole new set of great toys for kids of all ages.  D and I love to check out the up and coming toys when we are at Toy Fair, it is the perfect place to see the under the radar toy companies as well as the best place to discover the next best thing before it hits the shelves later on in the year. Here are a couple of our favorite things from Toy Fair so far: Slapstache- As a proud child of the late 80s and early 90s, I have no problem admitting that I had quite a few slap bracelets (Don’t let the urban legends scare you, they were pretty darn cool).  In this day and age, the moustache has made an astronomic rise in popularity, so what is better than a Slap bracelet and a moustache put together? Nothing.  It doesn’t hurt that purchases of the Slapstache also go to charity.  Lootcrate.- Who … [Read more...]

Dancing Hotdogs #HealthyEssentials

This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them. I love Valentine’s Day! I love how it reminds you to do something special for your loved. True it does not make up for forgetting to be kind to your Love 364 days out of the year but life gets crazy.  Eddy is my one true love and every day I try to be considerate and show him my affection everyday.  However, I am ashamed to say most times Eddy is last on the list. Our sons, pups and life require so much attention that sometimes I have to stop and just give him a quick kiss to show him how happy I am to be his. To get excited for Valentine’s Day 2014 and our 13th Valentine’s Day together Johnson and Johnson Consumer Companies sent me a #HealthyEssentials package to make Friday the 14th extra … [Read more...]

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Big Feelings Week

Courtesy of PBS Kids

Disclosure: I am a PBS KIDS ambassador and received a screener package.   As always, my post is my unbiased opinions. Ever since they are little, boys are told to “suck it up” or “just rub some dirt in it”, expressing your emotions seems like it has been culturally forbidden.  Boys are meant to be tough and stoic, never showing how they feel and above all else never crying.  Unfortunately, this just isn’t right, boys should be able to express themselves both physically and emotionally, making them stop either only leads to issues.  That is why I am so happy about Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Big Feelings Week. Airing February 17th to the 21st, “Daniel Tiger and his friends will be learning about strategies for dealing with feelings of jealousy, disappointment, frustration and empathy.” This is a great opportunity for children to learn about emotions and healthy ways of expressing them. Check your local listings for details on when and what channels the shows will be … [Read more...]

Unplug from Cable Now! PlayOn Review

Disclaimer: We recieved review copies of PlayOn and PlayLater.  This post represent my unbiased opinion. Everyone is trying to unplug.  With cable bills rising and the number of useless channels growing it is no wonder that services such as Netflix and Hulu are becoming so popular.  With televisions becoming smarter and the ability to choose what and when you  watch shows unplugging the cable is the next reasonable evolution for families. Unfortunately, there are so many difference sources for content it is tough keeping track of everything. PlayOn provides a one stop shop for internet content including movies, shows, videos and music.  Basically it acts as if it were your cable provider providing you with channels with a wide variety of content, all you have to do pick a channel and and show to watch.  These channels range from standard fare such as Netflix and Hulu+ (both of which still require you to purchase the service before you use them) all the way to cable TV stalwarts … [Read more...]
