A New Year with 365 Days of Opportunities #LatinoBigs

LatinoBigs-Volunteer

We only have 20 days left of 2012 and I can honestly say I had an amazing year. I traveled, I spent joyous moments with my family and friends and learned new things that made me a better person but with every New Year comes the need for personal resolutions and a call for more personal growth and improvement. I am still finalizing my resolutions for 2013 but our new family motto of “the more you give, the more you get” is still going to be one of my top resolutions. I have loved this three part post series where we teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters Latino Bigs campaign asking for a Call-To-Action for more volunteers to help the next generations’ Latino leaders and scholars. We need Latinos to volunteer as Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  About 20% of the children we serve are Hispanic – a number on the rise. Yet, only 9% of our Bigs are Latino.  We especially need male volunteers as more than 70% of the children on the wait list are boys, yet only 3 of 10 volunteer … [Read more...]

(Video) BabyCargo Citrus Lane #TravelInStyle Event Recap, Contest & #Twitterparty Info

Baby Cargo

By Divina Last week I attended a fabulous Travel in Style event at The Peninsula New York where I got a chance to check out firsthand the new line of baby gear by Baby Cargo and the new e-commerce company Citrus Lane that delivers healthy and practical care packages every month. Citrus Lane is a new company that makes any occasion when you are out and about with the family easier to enjoy.  When you subscribe monthly to Citrus Lane you will get a box sent to you filled with great brands like Itzy Ritzy, ZoLi, Ella’s Kitchen and Weleda (to name a few) for $25 instead of the retail value of $35 to $40.  Baby Cargo is a new line of baby gear that has fashionable looks but its designs are all about functionality.  They have 100, 200 and 300 strollers that weigh less than 15 pounds and made for a traveling family with wheels engineered for a smoother ride.  They are so easy to fold and even have a shoulder strap for on the go! And there is a contest beginning March 18 … [Read more...]

shespeaks and Tide Coldwater Challenge Review and Video #washcold

Shespeaks and Tide Coldwater Challenge

By Divina I was taught about the joys of laundry from mi Mama ; ) and one of those golden rules you just don’t break are washing white clothes in cold water. You just don’t do it! So when She Speaks and Tide provided me with the opportunity to try out a full sized bottle of the Tide Coldwater Liquid Laundry Detergent I was all over it! Check out my video: We use Tide all the time because with my two wild but lovable boys I am always doing laundry. And all those loads of laundry add up with lots of detergent and higher utility bills! We use Tide because it gets the job done and always has coupons to make it a great buy. With the new Coldwater formula I hope it will help us pay less a month and is better for the environment since we are using less energy. I will definitely be using the new Tide Coldwater detergent again! I love the clean smell and LOVED how it removed all the stains from my wild mens’ clothes. Got any plans for the Jan 19th? How about joining … [Read more...]

LATISM Healthy Living Campaign Project and Twitter Party 1/11/12

By Eddy Being healthier seems to be everyone number one New Year’s resolution.  Yet, as you get older the more important the goal becomes, especially when you have kids.  As far as D is concerned, I am required to live at least until I am 94. With that said I have not been as stead fast on that goal as I should be.  There is always the standard excuse of “I’m too tired after work” or “I just want to spend time with my boys” but in the end it comes down to having the will and determination to keep things going. I recently heard on the radio that losing weight is impossible, once the body gets rid of the “fat” weight the body will always try to get back to being “fat” again (so it is a uphill battle).  The advice given by the Radio Host is don’t get fat, gee thanks for that! I guess any one over weight should just wait for the cold grip of death then.   But, rather than just give up and start stuffing myself with chocolate, I decided to change how I … [Read more...]
