By Eddy As one of the founding fathers of this latest trend of comic book movies, the X-men franchise holds an important place in Comic book movie history.  Also in that historic sense, the franchise exemplifies the best and worst of the genre.  With the first two films we saw the potential of what a comic book movie can be…something more akin to a real dramatic film rather than a high budget B-movie.  On the other side with the third movie (as well as the spin off for Wolverine) we saw, what money, expectation and no respect to the source material can do.
