Disclosure: We received a review copy of Identity Thief.  This post represents my unbiased opinion. Identity Thief brings together two of the hottest names currently in Hollywood, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) and Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) and partner them up in a single movie.  Identity Thief is brought to life by these two great comedic actors as well as the creative people behind Ted and Horrible Bosses.  The movie attempts to pull off a Midnight Run style movie. For Dads: Contagion #BlurayElite Review #SP

Contagion DH

As a member of Warner Home Video super exclusive Blu Ray Elite team, I get access to some of the greatest movies ever made. My mission is to give you how these movies fit in the life of a Dad. Movie: Contagion This is a tough one, I was never a big disease movie fan, it creeps me out too much.  I can still remember being freaked out by monkeys after watching Outbreak. Directed by the king of the super star cast movie genre Stephen Soderbergh, I was actually surprised Soderbergh restrained himself and his style in the movie.  He creates a pretty intense atmosphere of suspense.  Quick synopsis: A disease comes and kills everyone; people freak out. Dad Factor: Medium.  It might be a bit procedural for some dads, while the tension is high, the film does move at a slow pace.  Kid Factor: Low.  No way fit for kids. Think of all the traumas that could be caused by seeing mommies, daddies and children dying. Date Factor: … [Read more...]

Considering the fragile state of our boxing legends (my thoughts go out to Joe Frazier) we have to appreciate great boxers while they are at their prime.  Manny Pacquiao is one of those great boxers, no doubt about it.  So believe me when I say that I will be glued to the TV for “rubber match” between these two boxers. Put on your boxing gloves and join Verizon FiOS and Hispanicize on November 8, 2011 for the “Pacquiao-Marquez Boxing Match-Up” Twitter Party. How many times have these tough Latinos faced off? After a four-year hiatus from each other, they will be back at it again on Pay-Per-View available on Verizon FiOS. Before then, we'll ‘chismear’ about boxing history, favorite fighters and match-ups, passion for the sport, and … [Read more...]
