Johnny Winter Concert at Toad’s Place

By Eddy Ever since I started to play the guitar, Johnny Winter’s, has been in my personal Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.  I even thought of naming our baby Winter at some point, though it was shot down pretty quickly by D.  To me, he will always be the image of the “Johnny” from Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode.  But to the rest of the world, he’s the guitar slinging albino, from the 60s and 70s who’s seemed to embody everything that was great in Rock and blues.  So I was super excited to catch a concert of his at the famous Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT (my first concert at the venue).  Toad’s Place is and old and pretty well know bar near Yale University.  It made its mark on the world as being the go to place to play back in the 70s and has hosted a number of famous musicians in the past.  Johnny tends to play a show here once and a while, but I always seemed to hear about them when it is too late.  This time, I didn’t hesitate, with tickets costing around … [Read more...]
