Por Divina En Diciembre la pelicula The Help de DreamWorks Studio se lanzo en DVD y Blu-ray.  Yo tuve la opportunidad de ver la pelicula en BlogHer 2011 y me encanto.  Me reir, llorer y me diverti tanto. La película está basada en el best-seller número 1 del New York Times escrito por Kathryn Stockett y cuenta con un espectacular elenco que incluye a Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer y Bryce Dallas Howard. Sinopsis de la pelicula: The Help es la valiente historia sobre mujeres extraordinarias y muy distintas durante la década del '60 en el sur de los Estados Unidos que construyeron una inquebrantable amistad gracias a un proyecto secreto para escribir un libro. Y esta ganado tantos premios (Octavia Spencer gano un Golden Globe y esta nominda por un Oscar!) La pelicula es clasificada PG-13 y no lo recomendio para ninos porque es triste y un poco fuerte. The Help Movie Review

By Divina Last week during my BlogHer 2011 weekend, I was invited to a special prescreening of the latest release from DreamWorks Studios based on Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel is about African American maids played by Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer living in Jackson, Mississippi during in the 1960s just before the Civil Rights Movement and how one Southern debutante (Emma Stone) wanted to hear and publish their point of view. The Help was excellent!  So entertaining and poignant. The acting of the three main actresses and Sissy Spacek, Allison Janney, Cicely Tyson, Mary Steenburgen, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain is phenomenal. They along with the writing and directing of Tate Taylor took me back to a time in American history I was happy I never lived through.  The emotional but touching movie gave voice to these poor women who are abused and ignored but in the end shape and mold future generations.  Howard’s Hilly character is especially awful but … [Read more...]

Zombieland Movie Review

By Eddy Yes I know, this did come out a couple of weeks ago, but it is the season of Halloween, so I decided to do a review on a scary movie. Let me first confess that I am not a big horror fan.  Its not that I hate it, it's just that I am too paranoid to begin with, so when you start adding the worries of a demon-man that attacks your in your sleep or a monster that haunts a children's camp area I just go off the reservation.  With that said I do keep up on what is going on in the genre. If you are into horror and gore keep your eyes out for the following two movies: the French film Martyrs and the film The Human Centipede .  From what I have heard so far, both films are all sorts crazy. Now back to Zombieland , as I have mentioned already I am pretty paranoid and D will attest zombies hold a special place in my paranoid fantasies.  Yes, I have spent an unhealthy amount time thinking of what I would do during a zombie invasion.
