Immortals Blu-Ray DVD Review

immortals DH

For pure entertainment value Immortals Blu-Ray DVD fits the bill.  The movie is huge and bombastic and relies on the type of visuals that just pop on your brand new HD TV screen.  For the most part, the story falls in the same trap that Clash of the Titans does, investing more in the visual than with the premise.  Though that isn’t a bad thing in this case, sometimes  you want to read a beach book and not War and Peace if  you get my meaning.  The movie provides you with all the fighting/action all in a plot that doesn’t really strain your resources to understand.  For me this is a perfect movie to watch in a Home Theater (now I just have to figure out how to buy one for myself!). The story follows the journey of Theseus (Henry Cavill, our new Superman) as he tries to thwart King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) from releasing the Titans who will then procedure to destroy the gods ie. Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon etcetera.  To do this, he basically kills everyone in sight, makes a … [Read more...]

Thor Movie Review

Thor Movie Poster

In this case, it could be the subject matter that was its downfall.  In the scheme of things, Thor isn’t really a fan favorite nor really … [Read more...]

Mattel Green Lantern Party

By Eddy Armed with our power ring, Big Bro and I decided to go out in the vast reaches of Westchester County (also known as the final frontier) and recruit a couple of brave souls to join us in the  Green Lantern Corps!  To join us on journey was our trusty sidekick Mommy! and the newest trainee to the Corps, Baby Brother.  Check out pictures of our fantastic adventure below: The kids loved the toys so much they forgot about the party sweets to just play. In all seriousness, when Mattel asked us to sponsor a Green Lantern party for the upcoming feature film (out in theaters on June 17th, 2011) how could we say no, especially with all the cool stuff all the kids got during the party. Along with sample of their new line of action figures that haven’t been released to the public, everyone got a full size glowing power ring as well as a graphic novel retelling the origin of the Green Lantern.  Each action figure comes with a transformation toy that allows the toy to … [Read more...]
