By Eddy For Dad/Boyfriend/etc. To me, dad's/boyfriend's get the shaft.  I am not saying that we are easy to buy for, especially since most of us aren't big into getting presents.  It's the whole provider mentality, when your wife/significant other gives you a present you really don't have any control of the situation, you don't decide what you are getting and worst of all the thought of them spending money on something for you is uncomfortable.  Add on top, that we don't really express ourselves very well, it makes the whole gift buying process pretty difficult. So why do we get the shaft?  Since we are so difficult to buy for, mother's/wives/girlfriends tend to have to try to figure things out themselves...which can lead to a whole bunch of trouble.  I actually take a sort of sick joy in making D do this, it is a good indicator on what she thinks I like and how much she loves me!!
