Pacquiao vs. Marquez III twitter party pic

By Eddy As you could tell after the last super fight and twitter party, I am a boxing fan. While the last fight was a bit of a disappointment, at least to those looking to watch an actual fight, I am way more hopeful for Pacquiao-Marquez. Considering the fragile state of our boxing legends (my thoughts go out to Joe Frazier) we have to appreciate great boxers while they are at their prime.  Manny Pacquiao is one of those great boxers, no doubt about it.  So believe me when I say that I will be glued to the TV for “rubber match” between these two boxers. Put on your boxing gloves and join Verizon FiOS and Hispanicize on November 8, 2011 for the “Pacquiao-Marquez Boxing Match-Up” Twitter Party. How many times have these tough Latinos faced off? After a four-year hiatus from each other, they will be back at it again on Pay-Per-View available on Verizon FiOS. Before then, we'll ‘chismear’ about boxing history, favorite fighters and match-ups, passion for the sport, and mucho más! … [Read more...]

Liquid Plumr Event in NYC

Liquid-Plumr Tool School DH

By Divina Last week, Eddy and I were invited to NYC to attend an event held by Liquid Plumr .  We were treated to appetizers and a special Tool School for women, held by the Fantastic Tool belt Diva Norma Vally.  While Eddy was skeptical at attending, he quickly found out that there were plenty of tips and tricks that he didn’t know.  I don’t consider myself very hands on when it comes to fixing things in the house (thank god for Eddy and more importantly my Dad), but after seeing Norma break out the steps on how to fix a running toilet or install a new shower head, I felt like I could do the same thing.  All it takes is a little preparation and understanding of what you are doing. … [Read more...]

Sucker Punch Movie Review

Sucker Punch poster

By Eddy Sucker Punch is the story of Baby Doll (Emily Browning).  She was committed to an insane asylum by her stepfather after she mistakenly kills her little sister in attempt to protect her from being molested by him.  The Stepfather pays a corrupt orderly to forge papers to have her lobotomized in five days. Baby Doll finds “friends” in the form of 4 other inmates (Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung).  The movie shows as she escapes further and further into her own mind, first to a brothel/burlesques show setting and then to various battle scenes as she and her friends attempt to recover 5 items that will allow them to escape the sanitarium. Visually the move plays out like the perfect video game.   It’s as if the director, Zach Snyder,  polled every dork/geek/dweeb and digbat (including myself) in the U.S. and asked them what they wanted to see in an action movie.  Who can argue with scantily clad young ladies fight zombies/robots/Nazis/dragons with … [Read more...]
